Skin Sin # 2

Skin Sin #2: Not Drinking Enough Water

Drinking water is essential for the overall health of one’s body but is also an important step towards healthy, glowing skin. Drinking water is a great way to keep the skin plump and hydrated and flush any unnecessary toxins from the body.

Every day we are exposed to toxins in our air, water, food and personal products. Examples of these chemicals are pesticides (in our food, lawns and parks), solvents (in gasoline, paints and cleaning products) and plastic chemicals (such as BPA and phthalates)

A note from Jessica/owner at Sweet Saffron Natural Skincare

We can do our best to live free of these substances, but some are unavoidable. The good news is that we do have organs of elimination and detoxification that work hard to clear these from our bodies. When it comes to detoxification, the most important organs are the skin, lymphatic system, digestive system, liver, and the kidneys.

Water is, quite literally, the river on which our good health flows. Water carries nutrients to our cells, aids digestion by forming stomach secretions, flushes our bodies of wastes, and keeps our kidneys healthy. It keeps our moisture-rich organs (our skin, eyes, mouth, and nose) functioning well, it lubricates and cushions our joints, and it regulates our body temperature and our metabolism, just to name a few of its many functions.

As you can see water has so many benefits to not only our our skin but to the body in whole! Best news yet is that it is a NATURAL source and FREE! Get your glow on girl!
